Storyboard Scroll Drawing

During the first half of the 2011 Fall semester, one of our projects was to do a scroll drawing. I decided to do a storyboard type of scroll drawing featuring two of my dolls. Lil' Ragdoll and Lil' Flower Girl are dolls that are apart of the precious miseries series designed by Melissa Diaz. I've always loved this series so it seemed to be a good idea for a part of a storyboard narrative. In this narrative, the owner of Lil' Ragdoll and Lil' Flower Girl leaves for school so they go on an adventure around the house until they find her again. It was fun to do and all done in regular colored ballpoint pens.

Collages from 2011

These collages were done in the second half of the fall semester of 2011. It was the first time I considered collages as a form of art in and of itself.

Character Design - Raven

This is an oil sketch of Raven, the scourge of the seven seas. She is a pirate and I was inspired to create her when I first started going to the Renaissance Festival in Texas. I bought some pieces of an outfit and I sketched out what my outfit should look like when it was done. Thus, Raven was born. She's a fiery pirate captain that knows what she wants and always finds a way to get it. She has a pet two-headed raven, Emerald and Crimson.
I did this paintings sketch during class when I just didn't feel up to painting my original three-headed hydra-woman.
